Not sure yet but am thinking of offering a generous discount to anyone looking to pick up a pair of prepaid speakers at the show on Sunday at 4pm.

I have lived in Denver for years but have never gone to the show....I went looking and planning to spend   I had a number of different manufactures on the list (<4K). Selah was not on my list.   I had Emailed Rick a Couple times last winter but never ordered.. I spent 6 hours wandering around all 6 floors. I felt like a nomad. I repeated a number of different rooms.  Hotel rooms are less than idea and with the A/C on plus the hallway door open, the experience can be miserable. Needless so say, I feel sorry for some of the manufactures to spend all this time, effort , and $$$$ to sound soo bad.   After 4 hours of wandering around , i found Selah's Room and decided to listen.  I was actual going to leave the show with my checkbook untouched....    After a couple different listening sessions to make sure I wasn't being spontaneous, I wrote Rick a check for a pair of Tempesta.    ROOM 1121 needs to be added to ur list  :green:

Thanks to everyone who made the show a success! Many good comments from visiting audiophiles as well as reviewers from the press. Common theme - "that's high performance for the $" as well as one of the best rooms at the show, better than some with much more expensive systems. Several second takes when I mentioned the price.  :thumb:

Thanks for stopping by - didn't know you were expecting the "old sage" coming down from the mountaintop.  :icon_lol:

Congrats on all the great reviews, Rick!

I see that you used benchmark HDR preamp DAC. I've been looking out for one to go with my SB touch. What is your take on this new product? Does it make sense to get this instead of a full fledged preamp + regular benchmark DAC1?

I used it as a preamp before the show and it has excellent features and performance. Dead quiet, more than any other preamp I've ever owned. The motorized remote volume control has very small and precise steps which is exactly what you want.

One story from the show. A guy came in who had a bias against the DAC1. He had a difficult time reconciling how good everything sounded. Perhaps there was a problem elsewhere in his system?

Maybe it was one of the Stereomojo guys that didn't care for the Benchmark DAC.

A little more than half way down the page they have a nice writeup on the room where they say they would like to get a hold of one of your designs for a review.

One thing I notice missing from the coverage are photos of the "old sage" I want to see the face behind the speakers.

PS

Rick,

Do you happen to know the name of the track that is playing in that Audiogon clip? I kind of like it. I'd definitely be curious to see how it sounds on my Grandeur's.

It's Todd Sickafoose "Tiny Resistors". Very eclectic instrumental recording with a great mix and natural sonics. It's a good test of imaging and detail retrieval.

Are you going to RMAF 2011 this year? Didn't see Selah listed on the exhibitors list.

I had planned on attending but the timing just didn't work out this year. A large array project is in the works and the delivery / calibration falls right around the show time.
