Top of the line model from the Acurus line of electronics. Acurus is the affordable side of th Aragon line of electronics, and has developed a reputation of high performance sound at a reasonable price.
Amplifier output is 250 wpc into 8 ohms, and contains a high current power supply based on a 1,000VA toroidal transformer. Has fully discrete input and driver stages, no op-amps in this piece. Capable of driving low impedance loads, which makes it ideal for difficult to drive speakers like Infinity, Thiel, or electrostatic speakers. Very even tonal balance across the spectrum, and delivers tons of deep, tight bass. Amplifier is in excellent condition, with no electrical issues. Cosmetically the amp is extremely clean, with no dings, nicks, or bent cooling fins. The finish on the cooling fins is deep and even, which means this amplifier has never been driven hard. There is a tiny spot or two where the paint is worn, but these a re pinprick sized. Not sure they will even photograph.
This is a great amp for a reasonable price. In very nice condition, and superb sound quality for the money. There is a reason why these amps get bought up quickly, there is a lot of value here. Audiogon blue book shows average selling price $440 with a MSRP of $999, $375 for a great condition amp with original packing is very attractive.
