French Open

Man, there is some serious tennis goin on today!  Monfils vs. Ferrar and I'm talking Ferrar- it's in the second set right now and Monfils is the home favorite- for his mental toughness but, boy, what a draw the winner has to play.  And Hantikova and Kusnetsova!  Who wouldn't have thunk it that Hantikova would have blown out Wosniaki in straight sets.  And Schiavoni is a little monster and the quickest female on the court!  She and Sharapova would make for a hella of a match.  Sharapova has looked very strong.  The highest ranked female still alive is Azarenka and very nice to look at.

Man, you gotta love that little peanut.  She's all heart.  Li Na got in the quarters this morning with a strategic win over very tall Kvitnova.  After being down 0-3 in the third set, her opponent had won the opening set 6-1, Na ran her ragged to win 6-3.

If you saw Mr. Fognini who fought off 5 match points to win and advance, did you notice how effortlessly he could really put mustard on his shots?  That guy hit a ton of outright winners!  He's out as of this morning with a torn muscle, it is said.

Nadal still the king of clay. Despite rain delays and faster Babolat balls Nadal beats Federer for his sixth French Open title.

I watched the last three games of the final.
Although beating Rafa on clay ain't likely, Roger looks good for the grass this year.
Any of you guys play?

The 4th set, Nadal shifted into another gear though.
Wimbledon coming up, I think Fed may has a chance there. :thumb:
I play 2-3 times a week.

I used to.  There were courts near my house and my good buddy was a tourmament class player and all his friends met there.  So, I didn't play him but he got me started.  Love the game.  My wife played, too, as did her brothers.  Had no problem getting someone to play.
