From the "Bands you wish were still together" thread, slushpuppy and I are trying to find out for sure if Marr toured with The The in 93' when they were opening for Depeche Mode. My recollection is that he didn't, and as I can remember the guy playing guitar was not Johnny Marr. Anyone else see this tour?

I didn't catch the 1993 DM Devotional tour but saw the Exotic tour the next year.

Johnny Marrs website has a list of all the tours he did with Matt Johnson. The last concert date is 14 July 1990, so I guess that answers the question. His website shows him working with the band until 93, so wonder why he didn't go on tour that year? Whoever that was playing guitar was pretty damn good.

That's kinda what I thought, because Marr was quoted as saying he didn't want to be part of a touring band again after The Smiths. I'm with ya, whoever it was playing guitar on the Dusk tour with Depeche Mode was very good...........and he played a mean harmonica too!
