I have both.  The JSP is the one to go for, it has a more analog sound.  The Columbia is a newer remaster, but is a bit bright to my ears.

Thanks, Tyson.  That was what I gathered from reading listener reviews as well.
I don't think that the price for 4 discs at Amazon is too bad either.
Much appreciated.

P.S. Get Mike Galusha out of his fantastic audio mancave and out and about with you guys!  It is summer! :thumb:

Tyson, you know jazz stuff too??  :thumb:

I am still enjoying your Mahler Symphonies and Shosty Quartets recommendations. I don't have any early Satch.

Hard to beat Mahler or Shostakovich!  If you don't have any concerto's by Shosty, they are well worth checking out too.

Just the jazz during Louis' lifetime. Most jazz after Coltrane leaves me cold.  But, Louis, Ella, Billie, Coltrane, Basie, Ellington, Davis, I have lots of their stuff.

As I know we all do, after researching this music, I saw a listener's comment and had to buy "Ellington at Newport '56", as well as "Armstrong Plays W.C. Handy".
