bryston 4bst right channel red light on power up

bryston 4bst right channel red light on power up

the issue is that any time the amp is off for an extended length of time the right channel led is red on power up. if i leave the amp on eventually the led turns green. powering down and up after short periods of time the led remains green. i just purchased this amp and want to listen to it. is it safe to use as long as the lights are green. also any explanation as to why this is happening would be appreciated

The red light may indicate DC leakage but check with Mike Pickett at Bryston or could simply be a faulty detection circuit on the LED.  Your OK if the lights are green.  How old is the unit?

February 1996/ I can live with waiting for it to warm up but my family members are not as patient.The dealer i purchased from has agreed to pay for shipping to bryston so i guess ill make arrangements tomorrow. Am i allowed to plug the dealer on this site? He deserves it he has been absolutely first class in dealing with this issue
