SOLD: Eventus Audio Metis - Monitor Speakers
« on: 21 May 2011, 12:37 am »
Up for sale are a rare pair of Eventus Audio Metis monitors. These well made Italian beauties have quite a following in Europe and Asia but just haven't breached the US market yet.

Their unique cabinet construction is what sets them apart. Using a patented technology called SACC (Simulated Anechoic Cabinet Construction) they have built a cabinet that reduces standing waves naturally by building an anechoic chamber directly into the construction of the cabinet itself. Combined with their special EA-HDR (Extruded Aluminum - High Density Resin) cabinet build they are able to produce an extremely musical and well measured loud speaker. Each monitor is outfitted with Morel drivers, WBT dual access binding posts, and the crossover parts are of extremely high quality and located in the bottom of the cabinet in a separate dampened chamber so as not to interfere with the acoustics of the main sound chamber.

Custom factory stands are also included with these monitors that further help to decouple them from any residual energy that may transfer through the floor.

I have posted pictures of their design and will post actual pictures of the units to be sold shortly.

These are very neutral sounding speakers that take on the character of the upstream components. If you have very articulate, fast, and hifi (i.e. clinical) sounding gear these will provide you that sharp resolution with the utmost clarity and airy top ends. If you have gear that is more bloomy, slow, and rich in the mids these will help balance the pace and amaze you with very clear highs and a sharp but well rounded mid.

Since I just sold off my hifi system I'll also be throwing in a set of custom made Cardas Netural Reference speaker cables with Cardas forged spades. These cables were custom made by a Cardas technician for his personal system before he swapped out for the golden reference in his new system.

These speakers are currently retailing for $10K and as they are the last piece in my system to be sold have been priced to sell here at $3500.
