This is the RWA-modded iMod with the Wolfson DAC. (A 60 MByte iPod photo model.) In the 4th gen mod, output is via the headphone jack. The internal volume control is removed to make room for the mods.
Sound quality is warm and impressively good. I get best sound simply running wav files... better than Apple Lossless to my ears.
Battery is in good shape--I installed it last year, and haven't used it much since then.
I also have an iMod 5.5 (i.e., 5th generation). Its sound is brighter and more detailed, but not as warm. I don't have an opinion as to which is better. I'm keeping the 5.5 because the thumbwheel on it is not in the best condition--and because I actually have two iMod 4th gen, so it's easy to part with one.
$200 obo with shipping. Speck case included.
I also have a nice Y-cable (stereo plug at one end, RCAs at the other end) available.
