Do the Tyler Acoustics Speakers use XBL Motors?
« on: 1 May 2011, 06:17 pm »
I've been a fan of XBL motors since they were released.

GR seems to like XBL and was involved with crossover design on the Tyler Acoustics decade line.

As I ponder a speaker upgrade, I'm wondering if the Tylers include XBL drivers.  If not, does anyone know anything about the drivers that Tyler's using?

I find that the XBL^ motor has some advantages in the lower ranges but not so much in the higher ranges. In fact that motor design tends to give up output in the upper ranges compared to the lower ranges.

The drivers that I designed for Ty are top level drivers and are some of the best sounded small woofers that I have ever heard. They are similar to the Seas Excel line but with a paper based cone. They sound beautiful. I hope you get a chance to hear a pair.
