Advice needed - phono preamp for Panasonic SA-XR50?
« on: 31 Mar 2004, 08:35 pm »
Hi.  I currently own a Panny XR10 and have preorder an XR50.  I am wondering about the best way to get a phono signal into the unit.

Kabusa.com has good things to say about the Gemini PMX250 mixer plus it is only $45 or so.  Good specs.  Can anyone vouch for the sound?

Another user on the board has used the Terratec Phono Preamp to take the signal to it in digital form.

Both of these seem like good solutions, one all digital and one analog.  What are you guys (and gals?) using?

I have a Thorens TD-147 with a Shure "Music Lovers" cartridge.  I also have an old DBX 3BX but I think I'd like to find a digital solution for expanding the dynamic range of my records.  Anything out there do that?
