Thanks Marc for the additional info. That seals it. It is a RS1. Actually the reason I went looking for one is because of what you had said in an email. The cartridge definitely needs breaking in, but really show huge promise. I am already hearing large improvements in finer details in vocals. I have been out of vinyl for almost 20 years (because of young ones) and I am sooo getting the itch to listen more and more to what I knew was the better medium.
Thanks again,
Mark
OHHHH!!!!!!!!!! That's It!!!!!!!!!!!!! Blame me why dontcha.

( I was always known as the damn morin kid in the neighborhood )
It is a very nice cart. It is a nice step up from the original Sonata. Different coils somehow, a bit lighter stylus assembly. The diamond looks good under scope. Loading it down to around 39K in my system brings out a "certain something" That is hard to pinpoint. Most likely its bringing it in to synergy with the rest of my system........it's not a great leap. To the casual listener it probably doesn't sound a bit different. To me, it futher defines the back of the note as best I can explain it. Hard to beat it at its list price.
The modded 8MZ body with MCZ stylus and loaded down would run heads up with the original Sonata all day long. The RS-1 just has more of everthing in detail and soundstage.
PS: stay away from that Bastlnut guy..........he'll have you chasing down a Reference or a Statement.
