Here is another review http://www.6moons.com/audioreviews/audiogd/1.html

I had both the NFB-3 for $300 and the NFB-2 for $450 in my system and honestly I probably could not tell the difference.  They lowered the price of the NFB-3 to clear out some parts it's the best deal going and very good option to hold you over.

In my mind when people talk about implementation it’s all about the power supplies.  Every part of the equation requires power input and the best DACs have discrete power supplies to each item that needs power.  If you look at the Audio-gd goods as you move up the ladder you get additional transformers and power supplies that are completely separate from each other.  How much of that is redundant?  I don’t know.

I consider Audio-gd to have at a minimum a good foundation that being a detailed approach to powering the DAC.  I don’t think I have the experience to opinion more than that.  I do however like it in my system.  It improves the enjoyment of all my saved flac files.  I think that other areas of my system are holding it back.  One thing is for sure get the DIR9001 receiver chip.

If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.
I don't usually buy from China because they will take the time to sand off the silk screen from a part and then re-screen it to make it "look" expensive. The parts in that rig may be counterfeit. The numbers don't look like they add up even if they paid $1.00 per day for assembly labor. IMO.

Anyone heard the Burson HA 160D? that looks like it may be a good value at $1095.00 new on the Gon. It does look like it may have some China sourced parts too however. :(

I agree with you and I wouldn't know if the parts were real or not.  However please consider these facts.  A quick search of Audio-gd on Head-fi results in these results:

Do you think if it was a scam that Audio-gd would be a sponser of that forum and that all these people would be fooled?

Keep in mind I'm talking about a $300 inventment to get someone by until they can take a deeper plunge.  Also these tend to hold their value pretty well.

You're right on with that thought,

For 3 franklins, I will order one and check it out. I just sold my Tranquility and ordered a Big PBN 2 chassis DAC with USB. I will have somthing fun to play with until it arrives and the the West coast USB DAC shoot out begins. :thumb:

dang, the NFB-3 is 349 USD + tax and shipping with a 30-60 day wait :banghead:

Here is the best review for the NFB-2 DAC, i also own this unit and dont think anything can touch it for the money. Playing hi-rez files thru this thing is unreal.

The Wolfson chip is known to be a bit warmer nuetral sounding, and very musical, paired with my OB/7's is a great match.

here's one for sale.

Looks like they pay for shipping both ways for repair work on three years of warrantee and they burn in their gear for 100 hours before shipping out.

 That's impressive.

Perhaps already expecting an answer, has anyone heard this gear versus Emotiva? preamps, dacs, amps, or otherwise?
