Nuforce HDP problem with analog input
« on: 20 Mar 2011, 12:25 am »
A couple of weeks ago i purchased a Nuforce HDP to use with my iMac, Hegel HD2 DAC and Denon AH-D5000.

iMac -USB-> Hegel HD2 -analog-> Nuforce HDP -> Denon AH-D5000. This setup gives me a horrible beeeeeep noise in the background when listening to music. The noise is not there if I stop the music, but is there if I set iTunes on mute and play music. I contacted the store and they sent me a replacement HDP. The replacement had the same problem. If I use my Argon HA1 amp instead of the HDP everything works fine. Connecting the HDP straight to the iMac with USB also works, but I want to use my HD2 DAC. I have tried differenct cables everywhere in the setup.

How can I get rid of this terrible beeping sound?

Thanks!

It's a ground loop issue between different pieces of gear.

Since we can't really figure out the ground loop problem via an Internet forum, I suggest you bring the gears and have your dealer help you out.
