I just heard the new 3.7 here in Mpls., and they are much more transparent and resolving than the 3.6, which I have in my home. The 3.7s had just been unboxed on Friday, but even with less than 24 hours running, they are clearly much more than a modest improvement--they are a new generation of coherence and imaging. They were driven by an ARC HD 220 hybrid amp--for perspective, 380 watts into 4 ohms and about $9K--an ARC LS 26 or 27 preamp with a Bel Canto CD player--all gear that is not at the extreme of expense. The 3.7s have no externalized crossovers, do have the familiar jumpers, which were replaced by pure silver wire during store set-up--an upgrade they do with their in-store Maggies. The 3.7 is going to impress you.
