Yes.  I suppose "old" is accurate in that they have been around for quite a while, but they can still be purchased brand-new from The Audio Insider and OZ Home Theater.

I've never had Swans, but I did have AV123 Rocket's. If Swans are the same/similar speaker, the SongTowers win hands down. The bass on my 760 was more boomy and the midrange wasn't even in the same league.

I have the 4.1 and 5.1s and they are very nice speakers for HT. Beautiful looking speakers as well. The 6.2 are supposed to be even better for music. If you are not set on large floorstanders, you may want to consider the swan d2.1se bookshelves. I think they are much better.

While I have never directly compared the 6.1's to the SongTowers, I can say pretty confidently that the SongTowers will be better in every way - including how they look!

I still own a pair of the Swan R1's that I use for surround sound and when compared directly with the SongTowers for surround duty, the ST's are orders of magnitude clearer, sound more accurate, and are more tonally correct - the Swans sound muffled and flat in the midrange and the top end sounds strident and artificial.

I'm still using my Swan 6.1's for surround speakers. They're nice speakers for the price but I would go with Song Towers.

This is the first time I ever heard the Salk SongTower's, and also the first time I heard the Swan's, both under blind conditions.  See the link below:

All I know is that I'm looking forward to replacing some Swan 5.2's and the C3 Center with SongTowers and a SongCenter shortly. Jim advised that they're finished and getting packed up!
