Front face plate MCH-3C7
« on: 28 Feb 2011, 12:00 pm »
Hi.

I intend to buy a used MCH-2C5, which according to the current owner has been upgraded to a MCH-3C7 amplifier.

Problem:
He has no evidence of this upgrade (as being second owner).
However the pic clearly shows a front face plate with the 7 knobs (not numbers).
So it is sure its a 7 Channel ap.

So far so good: But I am unsure if this is not a clear sign that this amp is "only" a MCH-2C7?

As all the pics I can find on the web showing a MCH-3 C7 have the numbers as front plate.

Can someone (maybe Jason) verify, if a knob-frontfaceplate can also be on a (upgraded) MCH-3C7 amp?

Thank you very much in advance.  Regards, Stephan

MCH-3C5 comes with identical front panel with 7 buttons for future upgrade to C7, so you can't tell from looking at pictures.

Thanks.

Then again - and as I have the amp now in my property: how can I tell if it is a 3C7 or 2C7 when unmounting the top panel? The modules used should have different markings, shouldn't they?

The amp works flawless and matches my speakers perfectly, but I really want to know if there are 200w or 300w playing.

I also want to add, that I have been on a long journey over the years to find "my" amp as I needed a very powerful and the same time extremely fast amplifier.
I tried Mark Levinsons 432 and also Audionet Amp I V2, but none of these amps was able to match the nuforce in speed and easyness of delivering the power (which says something, as these amps are not considered being bad amplifiers...).

So my congratulations to your products - I am very satisfied with the MCh-3C7.

Regards from Germany

Stephan

3C7 has two power supplies inside (one on top of the other), 2C7 only has one.
