Rich's SoungSurround II's in Brazilian rosewood

Rich wanted SongSurround II's he could build a home theater around.  He needed front-ported speakers and wanted them in genuine Brazilian rosewood. He also upgraded to the OW4 tweeters.

He search around and found a batch of veneer that he really liked.  Here is the result...

Here's a view of the left and right speakers...

And a closeup view...

Happy listening Rich!

I'm sure the Brazilian rosewood is expensive.  To me that has to be in top 5% of the most beautiful I've seen. The rosewood grain and pattern fits the a speaker appilication very well !  Although I thought my mahogany was nice, I think I might have to place Brazilian rosewood along with Zircote and few others in top group for my next salk upgrade.

welcome to the rosewood club!  :thumb:

as for the wood, it is now illegal to harvest brazilian rosewood, so when the current stock is used, it's gone. so upgrade soon!

Yep, I got a new Guitar this past summer and its back and sides are East Indian Rosewood.  Martin has replace Brazilian with east indian and Madagascar rosewood because of this ban and shortages.
