I'll be considering the 7Bs once the warranty on my 4B expires... let's see.... 19 years left... lol...

Ok, cool. Gotcha. I'm personally not gonna wait that long!

Hey Nap,

Just be glad you can make plans for your post warranty period.  My biggest hope will be to outlive mine.  If I should happen to do so I guess I'll just have to scramble and come up with something .

Bill, don't forget that as we age we need more SPL for the same effect... I hope though that I will not get that old as to *need* a pair of 28Bs....

Audiophiles love to say how they don't give a damn what reviewers say or think.  All they care about is what they like.  Of course that's total b.s. and most people that say it are just plain dishonest.  Sure, a few eccentric types truly don't care, but most people DO care.  No doubt about it.  It's very obvious.  Just look at the big shake out from Fremmer's review.  So, I'll happily admit that I love it when a reviewer tells me I own a reference quality amp and a bargain to boot!  Love it!   :D

Basis of Fremmer 28B review is just a touch and go comparison between 28B and MF.
I believe 28B deserve more serious review.

Just my thought,

It was the 7B not the 28B

You're right, I meant 7B actually, thanks.

The 4Bsst/2 has a really low noise floor. And like the reviewer said you would swear that it wasnt a Bryston when compared to even an sst. I ownd both 4b's the sst and sst/2.

If you want even more power with more clarity and less noise try the 14B. They are indentical in tone but the choke filtering tied in with almost double the power, it easily makes its worth twice the price. The 14B seems to drives the sense of air and it becomes part of what we hear and don't hear. Air around the instruments becomes part of the sound stage and you just don't get that with the 4B. At 4k the 4B is still an extremely good value imo. The amp is so versatile and will drive any speaker load at any volume. The phone jack access in the back with xlr makes it great for pa or bass systems. Its just an all around versatile amp that makes it a great bargain.

Werd throw away that muffled tube preamp and you'll get more air.

Speaking of muffled, are you still using those panamax conditioners?
