Sounds cool, but 7 days isn't very much.  Some of us have quite busy lives, although I guess we can just not participate.

I agree with Ernest... most people do demos for at least 10 days... usually 2 weeks.

Otherwise, everything else sounds positive.  This is the only way to hear what they'll really sound like.

As a VERY happy user of three VSA LCR-15's (and two VR-1 for surrounds) I can attest to the sturdy packaging which Von Schweikert utilizes for the 15's.

FWIW, if packed as they come, shipping to one, and onto the other, is literally in the hands of the oafs at UPS/FedEx.  It is packed for shipping--solid and tight.

VSA dealers are far and few between.  Sounds like a sweet offering HT Doc.  Good Luck.

BTW, with the hype that the VR-1's received in the last 6 months, the LCR-15's are that much more.

Thanks for the feedback.  I have no issue with 14 day auditions.  I didn't realize this was the standard.  Consider it a 14 day audition then.  It means that they won't make it to as many people this way.  But if it gives everyone adequate time to evaluate the speakers, then so be it.

I'm flirting with the idea of doing this with a piece of Bel Canto or two... but that's a lot tougher to justify the expense, they are a much higher ticket item than the VSA bookshelf speakers, and the amps actually weigh MORE than a pair of VSA speakers.  So if our friends at UPS and Fedex decide to throw the box around (which is 100% guaranteed), chances are greater that bad things will happen with the amplifier as opposed to the speakers despite the fact that Bel Canto overpacks their stuff.

Might be time to check out a good wood crate to use for shipping. I've had a demo of a pair of speakers that came in one....speakers arrived in perfect shape. Shipping charges will be higher, but the speakers will be in better shape. And the VR-1's should be no problem....got a pair right here. :)
