We have family over for the holidays -- would appreciate recommendations for live Jazz  in NYC Dec 29 to Jan 3 ...
 
Pointers to where to look for good tickets would also be appreciated ...

Try to get there when the doors open or at least an hour before show time.  Of course this is if you want good seating as it's open seating unless you're on the VIP list.   :D

It's still my favorite jazz club...so much that I still fly up for a weekend to see shows.

Agreed. 

BlueNote also has one of the best sounding venues that I have ever been in NYC.  It is a small place so getting there truly early to get good seats unless you have VIP pass.  Camp outside, McDonalds across the street if you need to use the facilities!
