i want to build a top (cap?) like that for my N3.  I plan to have mine stick out 1/8 - 1/4".  Does a design like that affect the sound at all?

Hi aharami,

I tend to think of it in terms of grill frame thickness. When your grill is mounted you have a 1/2" "lip" surrounding the drivers. How much of a difference can you hear with/without grilles?

WOW!  Now those are really something.  I have the demo set of N2X's on their way to me now, I might have to have you build a set of these for me....

Quick question for Danny, would the suede face on the baffle have any effect on the sound?  I would assume that it would actually help with any unwanted diffraction (kind of similar to people surrounding tweeters with No Rez or similar), but I am clearly not experienced in loudspeaker design.

Either way, these are just breathtaking.

Thanks jr1414!

I'm here if you need me.

Hey Ruben,

Have you ever considered making chromed speakers?  I've known about these guys for a while now and they make some interesting products.  Here's a little preamp I added some of the FX sheets to.

Hey Rob,

Yes Sir!

I am presently working on a LS-9 design for a customer that will use a highly polished aluminum metal laminate on the baffle and have metallic black sides and bases.

I have a BUNCH of design and material ideas that I plan on putting out there.

I'm just getting warmed up!  :D

BTW, I've received orders for a couple of X-LS Encore flat packs. If anyone else wants one just let me know!

They're $90.00.

Includes labor, material and packing.

For a shipping quote, I'll need your zip.

Thanks!
