Okay, this was a bonehead move but I can't go back and change the past.  Has anyone ever revived an iPod after a it has been through a washing machine?

This is the 6th generation Nano and is about three days old.  I had it on a shelf drying out for a couple days (yep, it was one day old when it went into the wash) and it powers up and plays songs (good news!) perfectly but the touch screen is black and you have to hold it up to the light in order to see anything.  The screen actually works (you can pause and change songs) and the tuner works but I'm unable to see anything on the screen without holding it up to a bright light.

Also, I can't figure out how to take this thing apart!  It is solid metal and does not appear to come apart (it must come apart but I can't figure out how!).  The person who did this is a bone head (not me for once!).   :duh:

Thanks,

Jack

Thanks, I did a search and found similar info.  This one is a bit unique because it's the new iPod and it technically works (and has been in a bag with rice and silica for 24 hours) but the screen is dark.

I will keep it clipped to the heat vent in my office (that place is dry and hot) and hope to dry it out until the screen comes back to life.  Will keep you posted on the results.

For the record, I'm trying to fix it for a friend who just got it.  My friend was very bummed and I thought a fix would be easier because I've taken some older iPods apart and have changed batteries several times on non-touch screen models.
