These 8 Tung-Sol 5u4 gb rectifier tubes were purchased on Ebay.
These have black plates with dual side round or "D" getters.
They were tested by the seller on a Hickok 539B tester.
Here are the tubes and the readings......Please match up the best pairs for my Modwright preamp power supply.
#1= 90/82 current draw-25 ma

#2=85/73 =23 ma

#3=91/82=25 ma

#4=94/87=26 ma

#5=101/95=28 ma

#6=100/91=28 ma

#7=88/82=25 ma

#8=110/101= 30 ma

Please give me your expertise on what will match up the best! Thanks!

I'd ask Dan at Modwright, there is a Modwright forum here too :)

5 and 6, 1 and 3 paired look like wonderful candidates. But if you are thinking long term try and grab some more to match up the others, then sell off the singles that don't match, or if two pairs is enough sell off 2 and 7, 4 and 8 as tested good pairs or again as singles. You might want to keep 4 as a back-up to the two keeper pairs.

Dan and others might correct me :)

Cheers,
Ian

1 and 3 are very close on the Hickok. BUT the question is, how relevant are the test conditions compared to the actual in-circuit usage of the tube?
