A little help in the Columbia, Maryland area?
« on: 4 Dec 2010, 02:04 pm »
I somewhat reluctantly sold and shipped my N2X pair to a fellow last week and they arrived, courtesy of Fedex, with the foil inductors in one speaker torn loose and thus not connected.

He bought these assembled because he's not a DIY guy, so I'm looking for someone close to him that might be able to assist him in the repair, for my enduring thanks, a case of beer, etc.  If you can, could you drop me a PM or an email at: tubesguy _at_ gmail _dot_ com?  Thanks - Pat

HAL lives in Maryland and could make the repairs. You might see if he can help.

Are you guy's all set?  I'm in Arbutus, just 16 miles from Columbia. Let me know if I can help.

Looks like there are more people closer than me.  I am about 2 hours away.

If someone local cannot help, let me know.  I will be back from travel after 16 December.

Problem resolved, Rob was able to do the repairs himself.  Appreciate the kind offers of help.

I told Rob the problem was caused by my failure to tie down the foil inductors, no doubt because, as with every audio purchase, I believed that this was a final purchase, and I'd keep the speaks "forever" so no need to make them fit for shipping. Result? The first time Fedex turned the box upside-down, the inductors broke free from whatever adhesive I had used and tore off.

Valuable lesson learned, but still disappointing to Rob not to just be able to pull them out of the boxes and enjoy.  :(

Thanks again, guys - Pat
