auto turn-off issue with my BP26 - 3BSST² combo
« on: 28 Nov 2010, 12:56 pm »
I started buying a BP26 a few years ago, and recently bought a 3BSST² (sn:1745). I connected the BP26's 12V mute trigger output to the external trigger input of the 3BSST². So when I mute the preamp, the poweramp is shut down.
This works fine, but when I power down the preamp  when its already in mute-condition, the 3BSST² restarts for a few seconds (green  LED's on 3BSST²) . After this short time the 3BSST shuts down. This doesn't seem very healthy for the 3BSST²,... Is there a way to avoid this? I was thinking to put a 1k resistor as an extra 'load' on the 12V trigger connection.

Is it normal that the front switch has to be ON and the switch on the back on EXTERNAL before this works.

Hi Wim,

Yes the front switch must be ON for the 12 volt trigger to work.
Please email Mike Pickett at Bryston on the power down issue - mpickett@bryston.com
