Schindler's List is supposed to be out on DVD today.  I'm just getting ready to make my regular NRT run to BB.  I've been meaning to see this for years- not that it's come to DVD I will.

Yes you ARE the only guy not to see this movie! :)
And, yes, you're in for a treat, it's a great movie.

Yup, it's only you...

Saw it once. Don't need to see it again. I won't be picking it up on DVD.

Did you not like it, or is it just the sort of film that isn't a repeat viewer (a la "Saving Private Ryan" or "The Passion of the Christ")?

It's definitely not a "repeat viewer".

And I don't really recall caring for it that much anyway.

This is a bit off topic, Brian, but I think you're the only guy on this site who hasn't changed his Avatar since the very beginning.  I hadn't until fairly recently, I guess last football season.  That's kinda cool, quite the "old school" avatar!

Ahh, but I did change my avatar. Old one was the LD logo. Still have that one at HD...

Ok, I'm the second person who hasn't seen it.

Not sure if I will buy it...maybe one of my very rare rentals.

Schindlers List is one of those "shelf movies" People buy it to have on their shelf, but rarely if ever watch it. Because it's depressing enough that you wouldn't want to watch it on a regular basis.

But it looks good on your shelf. Shows you have "taste".

I'd rent it first if you've not seen it. Maybe you'll actually want to watch it on a normal or semi-normal basis. But I doubt it...

It is not a happy movie...it was about how the Germans treated the Jews in WWII.

It is NOT a date movie, it is not a feel good movie.

It IS a movie to see, so you can see what evil exists in this world, so you don't let it happen again.

As most of Speilbergs movies, it is very realistic...like the beach scene at the begining of Saving Private Ryan, this movie captures what happened to the Jews in Poland in a very graphic way.

I'm not trying to prevent anyone from seeing it, as what Marbles says is all true.

See it once. But I don't know if you'll care to see it again.

Rob,

I know I SHOULD see it, but with so much going on these days, it isn't going to be at the top of my list.

Having double majored in History and International Studies I am quite familiar with the topic and I do want to see it at some point.  I am sure it is as powerful and moving a movie as one can see.
