Marchand XM26 1-Way Tube Crossover - SOLD

MARCHAND XM26 1-WAY TUBE CROSSOVER

This unit not currently getting any use, and I have too many tubes already in my system, so it is time to sell this (or turn it into something else).

This unit is currently set up as a 1-way crossover (with a single crossover board) with two low pass 100Hz 24dB cards (4th order) installed.

The board uses 4 12AX7 (2 per channel).  The 4 tubes currently installed are a mix of Russian tubes, and all were recently tested as strong.

Further details are available from the Marchand website.  Current MSRP of this 1-way crossover is $1500.

As you can see from the photo, the high out currently has two 10uf Solen caps installed as a passive first order high pass.  I bought it this way, and if I remember correctly this was supposed to be for 100Hz high pass (which would match the currently installed low pass cards).  I am unfortunately not bright enough to mathematically figure this out for myself, but the results through a pair of Magnepan MG-10.1s seem to be reasonably consistent with this number.

Although you cannot clearly see it in the photo, the potentiometers are only connected for the single board, and there is no bass summing switch.

I have two 150Hz cards and one 500 Hz card, and those will be included.  Additional cards are available from Marchand.  There are also some other caps that came with the unit when I bought it, and I will include those as well.

Physically the unit is solid (no dents), but there are some scratches plus it looks like someone colored in with a marker around the on/off switch.

I did contact Marchand about 2 years ago, and it was possible then to get another board to make this a full 2-way crossover (the quoted price 2 years ago was $350 for an assembled board, and $225 for a kit).  Since the XM26 is still a current Marchand product, I assume it is still possible to get a second board (plus other parts) if desired.

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Please note that this unit is being sold 'AS IS'; however, I will guarantee against DOA or a material misdescription in the listing.  In such event, I will refund the purchase price upon return of the component to me (in the same condition as shipped).

Money order/cashier’s check/personal check preferred but, except for US Postal Money Orders, all must clear my bank first.  I also accept Paypal for convenience (add 3% for USA and 4% for elsewhere to the total).

Almost all audio and tube-related trade value will be considered.  I don’t have any specific needs, but possibly something will catch my interest.  Some potential interests include SACD/DVD-A discs, vacuum tubes (KT88,6550, EL34, 2A3, 7DJ8/PCC88, etc.), shielded speaker cable, and a DAC with balanced output.  I would even consider a solid state Marchand crossover.  The only items I don’t have any specific need or use for are tuners, turntables and CD/DVD players (although a dedicated SACD player would be of interest). I will even consider equipment repair services.  In any event, feel free to propose something (tubes or audio equipment) and I will at least consider it and respond.

I am willing to ship this unit globally but, outside of the USA, more stringent payment and shipping conditions apply.  In any case, the buyer is responsible for all shipping charges.  Each unit will be packed individually and securely.  In the USA, I would prefer to ship via FedEx Ground.

Please check my feedback on Audiogon, Videogon and Ebay (ID=baileyler) and buy with confidence.
