For those who are interested, a bright new young female singer has emerged from Canada, Nikki Yanofsky. At 16 years of age she's only been on the music scene for 3 years, but must have been training her whole life.

I listened to her concert from July 2010 in Winnipeg, Canada and immediately fell in love with her voice. And she's physically attractive to boot. This concert is Jazz, but she considers herself a singer and is not limited to that genre. No doubt her voice will find its way to many audiophile hearts in the coming years.

You can listen to the concert on CBC.ca

She's been singing Ella for a long time.  I'll be watching her career with curiosity .

I'm a canuck and have to say she just doesn't do it for me.  Her Ella imitations, and little girl stories just seem cliche, stage mothered, and overly cute.  I bought one of her albums - sound is great but doesn't get played very much - prefer Ella the real thing or Dinah Washington or Sarah Vaughnn the real things.  Just my 2 cents cause I know lots who love her and what she does.

and run the video in to the 3:06 mark (Relax Max clip).

She sparkles on that song.
The video looks like it was shot with cell phone, but Nikki is TWO THUMBS UP! :thumb: :thumb:

I picked up her 2010 self titled CD that I saw on Amazon.  Frankly the first time I wasn't impressed (seemed a bit shallow, artificial) but did enjoy more the second time through.  Knowing her age does explain what I was hearing.  Can't have too many young, attractive female pop/jazz vocalists IMO.
