Anyone have any thoughts on this speaker?   I'm not a single driver full range driver kinda guy whether OB or not, but this looks promising.

Is that some sort of Helmholtz resonator on the back?

Not sure if you could call it a Helmholtz resonator, but it is a driverless passive box that is designed to produce a relatively wide bass range down to about 40 Hz. The rear wave from the driver excites a tuned cavity within the passive box to produce bass that compensates for the narrow baffle.  He has a whole series of white paper on his site about his Zen Open Baffle concept and box behind it.

It's just a transformer with a dummy load, that somehow gives a Dayton PS driver ruler flat response.  I'd bet anything that published FR is optimistic at best.

- nevermind, thought you were talking about the driver itself.
