RMAF 2010, what a great place to be!
« on: 18 Oct 2010, 08:17 pm »
I can't think of a better time in my audio geekdom than last weekend.  It was just incredible.  Meeting some of the people that I know through posts and emails was a treat.  Sis, BRM, it was good to share space/time coordinates with you  :D  For all of you that came by that I didn't snap to who you are moniker-wise here on AC, thank you for helping to make the show and our room the success that it was.

There are about 20 people, that know who they are, that helped make this show really special for me.  Thank you, ladies and gentlemen.  Seeing you every year at RMAF is truly one of life's great pleasures.

Jason, John, Ben, Jeff and more that wanted to go, but didn't:  PLEASE go next year.  It was awesome to see everyone and meet new friends.

What a ride  :thumb:

Two bad things happened at the show:  I forgot to take my laptop and the camera died - sucks.  If anyone has some pictures that they want to post, please, be my guest.

Dave,

Kevin and I at MAch2 Music wanted to thank you for your help at the show.  It was our first time to exhibit there and your help and guidance was invaluable.

Even more fun was seeing your products at work, helping a system sound its best.  Uber Busses, Diffusors, MacMini Sandwiches, Power Cords, they all helped the system sound great.

What was fascinating was seeing how you guys dial in a room.  The ears and know-how in that room were amazing.  Being able to hear a change when a diffusor was moved a half an inch, and people in the room knowing to even try it, was incredible to watch.

The end result was a great sounding room.  You and the rest of the guys should be very proud.  The vendors have 24 hours from when they get the room, until showtime and you guys did phenomenal.  Congratulations...

Thanks, Darrell.  It really was a group effort.  All of us worked hard to get the terriffic sound that we had, you and Kevin included.  It is amazing how good things can be when we are all focused on being the best that is possible.

Thank you again for your contribution to our success.

Darrell and Kevin - all of us in the Iris room were also very pleased to meet you and make use of your wonderful addition to our room, the Mach2 Mac Mini.  I was skeptical at first whether it would make a difference, given the jitter immunity of my new async USB interface, but I'm a believer now.

I think this is one of those things like Amarra, that makes a sonic improvement, but we dont understand exactly why.  There are those that improve Mac Minis with SSD and power mods etc., but you guys take this to the next level IMO.

Dave,
It was great to see you again as well.  It really was a fun time at the show and getting to hang out!   :thumb:

The room did sound great again this year.  Learned a new method to setup the diffusors!  That will be very helpful along with some tips Danny gave me.

Hope to see you at LSAF next year!  :D

Steve,

Thank you for the kind words about the Mach2 MacMiini.   It means a lot coming someone with your background and expertise.

We had a great time working with you all in the Iris Room.  RMAF is a great show because of the wonderful people and kick @ss gear.  Your room had both.  Despite being skeptical, you guys gave us a chance to see if we could help you in your room.

We really appreciate your open mindedness and the time we got to spend with you guys in the Iris room.  we had a great time and learned a lot.
