I'm considering getting a tempest to see what they are about.  It would probably be an older model from audiogon/ebay.  I have not been pleased with passive preamps, so I'm very on the fence about whether to even bother.  Are the older tempest symphonic line design?  What are the differences I will find, features and such?

I've got a Tempest that was the prototype for the current version with the Symphonic Line board. It's all black. No remote. I need to send it to Klaus as I think there's an issue w/ the output jacks.(loose connection from using tight fitting IC's) Probably rate a 7 on cosmetics. LMK if interested, and I'll expedite the repair.
