Hi Guys:

For the time being, I am running a Touch directly to a hard drive via USB. Did I just trash the hard drive by turning it off? I know it says to eject it first, but I thought that was when removing the USB cable. I'm guessing I did 'cause I can't play it now & can't find anything hooking the HD up to the laptop.

If so, that would be unacceptable.  What happens if someone experiences the common scenario of a power outage?  The USB drive would fail?
 
What is the model of the USB drive and what laptop did you try to hook it up to?
