I'm looking at some of Ortofons Cadenza line of cartridges and the older discontinued Kontrapunkt cartridges. I'd like to hear if you've had one of them in your system and what you think about how they perform.
A line from an ad on audiogon for a Kontrapunkt "c" cartridge states that "The stylus is a Fritz-Geiger 80 (I've heard that Ortofon can no longer source this stylus type). " The seller hasn't gotten back with me yet. What does it mean that ortofon can no longer source the stylus type? The cartridge must be thrown away? or can it be retipped?
Any help would be appreciated. Feel free to recommend any other low output MC cartridges for my listening enjoyment ( up to $2k)
