10 days later...  :D

10 days since my last post here.  Still love'n it!  Why?  Absolute clarity!    Me thinks the amplifier is the biggest bottleneck in every system.  Why?  It can hold back what the source reveals and thus fail to deliver everything to the speakers.  NOT SO with the Dayens.  Still very much enamored.  When does the honeymoon end?

So I've decided to listen to music I don't much like...  And yet it is strangely captivating because it sounds so damn good.  Go figure.

Nice to hear Wind Chaser!
I'm curious to reviews of Dayens more powerful models and their power amplifiers.
I think they must also be very good but who knows if the Ampino is an exception.
It wouldn't be the first time that a cheaper, less powerfull amp betters the amps in the upper range.
I wonder if the 6 moons reviewer isn't intrested in the other models to review.
Maybe we should start a petition to do that or something else to convince 6moons to do it. :icon_lol:

That would be interesting.  It would also be interesting to see more professional reviews, especially from the big boys.  If that happens Dayens will slaughter the market over night.  Suddenly everyone will see just how much over priced and under achieving gear there really is.  Dayens proves there's way, WAY too much of that... and the stuff that truly offers ultra high end performance... well it's just ridiculously over priced.

Speaking of price - I can't find the price for the Menuetto - or any other item in the Dayens line. Can anyone point me to a price list, please?

From what I recall, the Menuetto is $1200 and the Ecstasy II is $1800 and the Ecstasy IVse power amp is $3800.  You might want to confirm that with Michael Gill at Arte Forma Audio and tell him it wouldn't hurt to post some prices on his website.

Price is in Euros, so in dollars it should translate even in a slightly lower price as stated on this forum.

Has anyone tried bypassing the volume pot?  I have Ed Schilling's great Truth active buffer pre I'd much rather use than a passive volume pot, but I'm intrigued by the tales of performance by the Ampino and could use the extra power over my Miniwatt.

Virtue amp would make an interesting and useful comparison - both are economical, high value and seem to be high performance amps ...

Dayens is reworking their entire amplifier line to Gen VI and once that's finalized, I will take a look at perhaps their top amp to approach the brand from the other direction. There's also Ampino monoblocks on the board and a matching passive preamp to go with them.

Great news! It also shows that the company's business should be healthy which is also very important.

As long as they keep the Ampino or similar at an inexpensive price point...

You have to factor in the cost of shipping from Serbia, which isn't exactly cheap.

I'm not the least bit concerned about the volume pot.  The Ampino sounds so unbelievably good the way it is.  Moreover the only person I'd trust to improve upon this amazing amp is the brilliant mind that conceived of it.

Wow!  I heard about the mono's, but didn't know he was reworking the line.  If the Ampino is already in the same class as F5, you have to wonder where just how much room is left for improvement?

Thanks for bringing the spotlight on this amp.  Easily the best value and most mind boggling audio purchase I have ever made regardless of the all the money I have ever spent before.
