where to buy silver bybees?
« on: 3 Mar 2004, 04:24 am »
It looks like I will be going with wayne's modded sa-xr45 and will need a new digital cable.  From what I've read, it seems like this unit benefits from bybees-the more bybees, the better.  For my system, it seems like there will be 4 bybees for the speaker cables-one on the positive leg of each cable, 2 built into the sa-xr45 itself as per wayne's mods, and I was thinking it'd be good to buy 2 more for my digital cable similar to the napalm model.  i'll be going with a ridge street audio digital cable as the rest of my system (except power cord-that's a venhaus flavor 4) is Poiema! and I need to find 2 silver bybees for it.. I know robin has this configuration... care to chime in where you bought yours???  Also, that would bring the bybee count up to 8.. is that too much?  How many bybees were used in the DAM meeting when you guys felt that the sa-xr45 was sounding it best?  I thought I read 8... just like how I described.  Is this true?  thanks in advance.

Up to Five bybee purifiers can be built into the speaker leads on a HT modded SA-XR 45. I may be able to build the new, smaller slipstream and silver slipstream purifiers into the digital line internally.

The unit the DAM listened to had no internal Bybee purifiers. There were two used on the speaker leads, One for each mid/tweet connection on the RM-40s. There was a RCA level purifire on the digital cable from the CD player. The CD player and the Panasonic were plugged into a Power Bar that had three Bybee Purifiers built into it. One each on the main line and neutral and another one on the line just for the digital components.

I do have availability on the Slipstream Bybees now and the Silver ones. I am working on new designs usings these purifires and the WBT NextGen connectors, which did sound better than the Silver Bullets to the DAM.
