Rick, what's your take on how the TC Sounds 12'' compares with the Aurasound NS12-794-4A 12'' driver? I know the Aurasound is pricey ($548 at Madisound) but I've found that higher $ does not always necessarily ensure higher quality or performance, though perhaps proper implementation has a lot to do with that.

I haven't tested the Aurasound 12" but I did build a pair of subs with the 15" and it was exceptional.

Finishing up the 15" sub for a local customer.  :thumb:

This will rock the house with a 1000-watt built-in DSP amp. I can configure the sub for the system with a variety of crossover points /slopes. Digital EQ also allows for very deep extension (20hz and below). Knocking on JL's door... :D

Picking up one of these bad boys at the GTG this weekend. I'll have my Veritas there  :thumb: The system now consists of the Aura Jr.'s in the rear with of course the Veritas in front. Had an audiophile friend over Sunday, he mentioned clarity many times  8) Anyhow can't wait to hear how these pair up.

Congrats!  I think it's gonna put a big smile on your face.  I got the version with the 15" driver that Rick mentions above (and am itching to get a second one!).  I fully expected it to shake the walls during movies (which it does quite effortlessly), but I wasn't expecting how much better my favorite music tracks would sound.  Like all of Rick's stuff, it just transparently delivers the impact of the music without any unnatural coloration or drama.  Let us know your impressions when you get a chance.

Hey Jomo,

So I wanted to give a bit of time before weighing in on this sub. Indeed you are right, it's putting a smile on my face. We are about to move to a single family house, and out of the apartment in a couple months. Then I'll really be able to let it flex it's muscles 8) It took me a while to dial in. At first I thought it might be a little light on power, very wrong there, I just needed a little set up time. Rick was very kind and generous with his time answering my questions. He was on the road coming from the GTG, and on vacation, and didn't think twice about helping me out. The sub is quick, accurate, and integrates very well with the Veritas. It's a combo that is muscular and can kick ass as easily as it can play Liszt. I am playing a lot of Anders Trentemoller these days, really great chill out electronica. He features big bass, dynamics, and great mastering. The TC12 deals out the sound there, and then lets me hear every note of a string bass later listening to jazz. It is very well damped sub, that easily floats in the background, until big bass comes through in the source material. Then it can shake the house. Before I had cheap subs that were very eager to make big noise, as if every bass event were an LFE effect. Great for selling units in best buy I suppose. That is why I thought at first the TC12 may not have been as muscular as it should have been. With a little more listening I figured out quick that this sub could do nuance and big effects. It conveys what is in the source material with great accuracy. This sub is a great deal. I definitely recommend.

Glad you're diggin' it!  I suspect the Verita/TC12 pairing is hard to match in performance for the buck.  You're right about transitioning from cheap subs -- it requires a brief reorientation period to get used to what accuracy sounds like.  That's when the fun begins!  I think you're REALLY gonna have fun when you get into that new house and can stop being considerate of the neighbors!
