Super-V's are in a different league.

In short, the servo controlled bass it flat to 20Hz and stops on a dime. Resolution levels are better across the board, sensitivity is higher, dynamics are greater... It's a V-2 on steroids. But it isn't on sale for $1,095 either.

Thanks.

How do they compare in terms of tonality?  One warmer than the other?  Is the V2 by any chance more forgiving of sub-par recordings?

What is the V2's realistic -3 dB point (bass extension)?

(This deal looks hard to pass up..)

In these regards they are very close. The V-2 actually (by a small margin) has a slightly more accurate response, being a little be smoother.

Both have a great vocal region.

-3db down point on the V-2 will be mid 20's.

I'd put the V-2's up against anything, any speaker, at any price point. Only the V-1 and Super-V have clear advantages. It was a give and take comparison with the Orion, but in the end the V-2 won the most favor for its great mid-range. When you through in the "for the money" factor, the V-2 is a giant killer.

Danny,

How would one of these match as a center channel for LSs?

I just upgraded the crossovers in my LSs and they are so good, my center channel (Xvoce) just can't keep up anymore.

I don't have room for another LS-6, so I was just curious if this could be used.
