Site Down?

A few days ago, and again yesterday and today I cannot get on the Salk website.

Anyone know what's going on?

It appears to be down.  I am working to resolve it, but haven't been able to identify the problem yet.  Stay tuned...

A follow-up...

We have been having trouble with our web hosting for a while now.  Today the web server would not serve up any pages at all.  The hosting company said they would be happy to help...for a fee.  So I managed to get it up and running myself.  And I decided it was time to take some action.

Over the week-end, I intend to contract for a dedicated high-speed line and order parts to build a new super-server.  It will probalby take about two weeks to get it all together.  But when we're done, we should have a REALLY fast server that will run reliably.  In the mean time...

I've had my own server for about 15 years now and just recently decided to simlify things and go with a hosting provider.  It was a bad decision.  With my own server, I have COMPLETE control and can install whatever software I want.  I'll never use a hosting provider again.

PS:  High speed line being installed tomorrow.  Server parts arriving on Wednesday.  I hope to be running on a new server by Monday of next week.
