Seen this movie today starring Will Ferell and Mark Walberg.I have to say I'm not much of a Will Ferell fan-the only movie I've seen him in that was really funny was Old School back in '03.Infact I believe critics really went after him for his last movie before this-Land of The Lost.He must have taken the criticism to heart cause The "Other Guy" is without a doubt his funniest movie and one of the funniest movies I've ever seen.It goes after the action-cop movie cliche with plenty of visual gags but has some of the funniest dialogue I've ever heard.Anyone else seen it this weekend?

I saw it on Friday night - it was very funny!  I'm not a Will Ferell fan, but he was really good in this one! 

Go see it if you want action and laughs!

I'm not a Will Ferell fan either but I really enjoyed 'Stranger Than Fiction', so without knowing anything more I'll see 'Other Guys' when it rolls into town.

Will Ferrell is pretty funny, he wears on me over the course of a movie if he's the main character.  I think Old School had the perfect among of Ferrell in it.  Although I really liked A Night at the Roxbury and Stepbrothers.  Telleadega Nights wasn't too bad either, but I'd probably be saying otherwise if I saw it in the theater. 

I'll let a few guys I know see it before I shell out the $11 or so per ticket to see it in the theater.  It looks like it's got the potential to be very good, or be like Anchor Man - way too much Farrell for me.

I am not a Will Farrell fan and this movie won't make me one anytime soon. The movie flat out sucked. Maybe you just had a problem with my opinion?    Well you wouldn't be the 1st.    Actually the Samual Jackson and Dwayne Johnson were funny as hell and I busted a gut for as long as they were there. After that, the movie fizzled for me,,,, but the teenyboppers in the theatre were funny.
 
I'll stand by my thoughts thankyou.

Yes you're right, I'm not a fan of his movies but there have been some exceptions like Tallageda Nights and Wake up Ron Burgundy that I really enjoyed. I basically watched this movie today cuz it got such a good writeup here and the startup time was a perfect match after The Expendibles movie was over (2 fer 1  ).
 
I got burned from this thread but thems the breaks. I wouldn't have known I didn't like the movie if I hadn't watched it so there's really no regrets here. If there's 1 thing I don't do, it's judge a movie that I haven't watched,, unlike some others around here do (Sex in the City II comes immediately to mind).

I haven't seen it, but I have read mixed reviews that kind of relegates it to a rental for me.  If someone dislikes it at this point...I can understand.

For our family, "Elf" is the new classic Christmas movie.  We'll watch it every year for the near future.  I like Will Ferrell, so I'm sure I'll like this movie.

Actually it was a 76% rating which is really quite good.   
 
Bob, you're spot-on, I don't go to Rotten Tomatoes and read their reviews. Why go there when I can get a bum steer right here?

I go to Rotten Tomatoes, but I don't place much stock in these reviews, because they're reviews from (paid) professionals.  I think an avid movie goer, who watches perhaps hundreds of movies a year, and I have different tastes.  I'll probably like both these movies, and yet one gets a 41 and the other a 76.  I think all day long and sometimes (OK, many times) want a simple popcorn flick.  Both of these seem like that.

I wonder what they gave Bruno when it was released abut a year ago?
