No posts in a few days so......

Hey All,

Since there was no posts for a few days, thought I would say how much my Cornet II has improved my vinyl listening.  I have slowly added components to my system that seem to be delivering a nice synergy - it just keeps getting better and better.  I am now running a modded Lenco B52 (w/ heavy platter) using a Jelco /LAD arm running either a Denon DL103r through a cinemag stepup or a Garrot K2 into the Cornet II.  Form there into my HK 670 integrated and then to my B&M DM2As.  The only mods I have done to the Cornet II are some tube rolling and the auricaps.  I have the russian FT3 bypass caps ready to go but am currently lazy.

So in a nutshell, the Cornet II has given me such a nice platform to build my system around, I thought I would just publicly remind myself :-)

Yes, this experience is mine as well.  Kinda makes ya wonder what lies beyond this that is really superior.  Note that "superior" is simply defined as a detectable audible improvement discerned after reasonably lengthy listening.

My experience with the Cornet2 is fantastic.  Tube rolling and Auricaps is all you need.  Interesting that these are the only recommended upgrades by the design engineer.

You'd probably have to ask Trumpet owners.

I'd like to add that I'm still loving my Castanet. Though I do wish I would have made provisions for an additional 30 ohm tap on my custom output transformers (60 ohm tap only). There's some in-ear headphones that I'd really like to try out now that the bug has really bit me.

As a former Cornet owner and a current Trumpet owner I can say this with some certainty. You can always put more money into vinyl and it will always sound better and better. There is a point of diminishing return, but just when you think it can't get any better ... it does, and noticeably.

The Cornet II was my last stop on a 5 step journey through Phono Stages.  It combines just the sound i was looking for.
