Saw the posting of the Beatles in Mono, and thought I would comment about my own search for the complete The Band "The Last Waltz".
What a bunch of misinformation.
I bought the new blu-ray of it, thinking, slightly better picture, and lossless sound. Good deal! But upon reading reviews, it was not clear that it contained the extra music of the Staples Singers on "The Weight" or Emmylou Harris on "Evangeline".  So I cancelled my order and ordered the double set, with the regular dvd and the blu-ray.  Well, it IS on the blu-ray, so buy just the blu-ray version.  PCM Lossless beats Dolby 5.1 surround.
Part Two:
I knew from the get-go, that the sound is murky on this recording, but is there a difference between the Virgin Label Remastered cd, and the Hip-O version?  And if there is, how can one be sure they are ordering the Hip-O version?
CD Universe lists 4 versions.  One with only 14 tracks???
