I admit it.  I'm schizo.  One half of me likes a tube amp, the other my Odyssey Extremes.  Anyway, my ss side has reemerged and demanded that the monos get put back in the system.  Having been fully (is this even possible?) broken in before but not used for a few months, how long will it be before they sound their best again?  If I had to answer my own question, yes we often talk to ourself, it would be a few days.  Are we right?

Well, if the amps are broken in, they should be broken in still.  I say hook them up
and run them hard for a few hours and you should be all set.  :)

Some feedback on the experience.  When I first powered up the amps they were flat and had loose bass.  That changed after about 2 hours as the soundstage deepened and bass tightened.  I went out of town for 4 days and the system was left powered but not playing.  Just not going to leave my tube preamp playing while I'm gone.  When I came home the soundstage had become more distinct in that each instument had its own place in a 3D picture.  Vocals were more fleshed out.

As for pushing these amps hard, I'm not really able to do that.  I'm run out of the room when the preamp volume is at 10 o'clock.  But I find that they start to open up before that point so all is cool.

I didn't mean to actually listen at that high level, I just meant to crank up the sound and then
leave the room to get the amp good and warmed up.  Then do some serious listening.  :)
