Well, I was waiting for the sixth episode to air so that I could watch them all at once.
So far I've watched four of the six episodes and I'm loving it! It's nearly as good as the original series, with some very interesting new characters. The writing is very strong and of course since it's a prequel we get Lucy Lawless and John Hannah back. Also returning are Manu Bennet (Crixus), Peter Mensah (Oenameaus/Doctore) and Nick Tarabay (Ashur) along with many of the other gladiators and assorted characters. It's a shame it's only a six episode mini-series but it's enough to get my Spartacus fix for awhile!
I also read that the producers are currently working to cast a new actor to replace Andy Whitfield in the lead role as Spartacus. Sadly he had to bow out of the series when his cancer returned. It will be difficult to replace the actor playing the main character given the long layoff it should work out okay. At any rate, Spartacus with a new lead will certainly be better than seeing the show canceled.
