We're likely moving to a new house soon.  The house has a perfect room for my high end rig so I'm good to go there.

The media room (22x15 with a high ceiling) is pre-wired for 5.1.  My wife is insisting that I use the wiring and mount speakers either in the ceiling, on the ceiling or use mounts to suspend speakers from the ceiling.

The speaker budget is $2,500 max. (with or without a sub. I have a spare sub that could be used) I'd be happy to spend less.

Any thoughts?

Paradigm makes some very nice in-ceiling matches for their Reference line of speakers.  I love our Studio 20, CC-470 and SA-10R in-ceiling rears in our family room.  The setup comes in under your budget also.

Food for thought...maybe some nice Dynaudio? Seems well within budget.

I like on wall, No movie theater or arena has speakers in the ceiling.  It is the last location you want, if you must than get the best contact Tekton out of Utah and he can custom build you a system in your price range.  and if your not 100% happy I will buy them from you!  They are that good

I plan to use 3 pairs of Audioengine P4 speakers mounted from the ceiling or wall and an Audioengine S8 sub for my 5.1 system and a total cost of $1100.  Rather than using a single center channel speaker, I plan to use 2 P4s wired in series, one P4 each side of the monitor.

I already have one pair of Audioengine P4 and one pair of the smaller P2 speakers and they sound great, very musical.  I too have a separate stereo high end rig but for multi-channel audio and movies nothing comes close to a good 5.1 system.
