Do You Pay 8 Thousands Dollars for a Tube??

Seems TubeDepot is not aware of the global crisis, they are trying sell WE-252A for just modical 7,995 dollars each single tube!! :o
What this tube have this special? Looks nothing unless rare.  This kind of prices that affect/prejudice the market of Hi-Fi tubes amps, the transistors makers should be happy today.  I have not see any like this before.

There are a few new production tubes (Black Treasures, EML) that for far less $ I'm sure will outperform those overpriced (good luck in ever replacing) tubes.

Some tubes have no replacements available from other manufacturers:

KR Audio T-1610 (aka Kronzilla) - $2500 per matched pair

Boy, I though Telenfunken valves cost a lot! That is a power valve right? Who the hell makes an amp using valves like that?
But I must say, it looks cool!

IS there an "audiophile formula"  for tubes like there is for wires?  For example, you should spend 2 months salary on tubes, or if your system is 50,000  you should spend at least $16,000 on tubes?

price is a little steep, but they'll probably cut you a discount for a matched quad.

Extremely old and extremely rare. I think folks who would get this would be getting them as collectors items and not really use them.

If it were to see use, I'd guess it would be for driver and not power duty.

Maybe they will cut you a break on a Tube Cube if you buy two or more.
That would be the deal breaker for me.
A Tube Cube at cost or I walk...

P.S.
Didn't I just see these in an Accura commercial?
