Cuisinart SongBird's

Mark's wife loves her Cuisinart.  So when Mark was looking at new speakers, she wanted something small with that very same look.  They shopped for color at a local automotive paint store and sent us the color number.  We filled the order at our local automotive paint supplier.  That is the nice thing about automotive colors...you select the color you want and you can get that exact color anywhere automotive paints are sold.

Here are Mark's "Cuisinart SongBird's"...

Happy listening, Mark and family...  Hope you can cook up some nice sounds with these!

Very cool.  Congrats to Cuisinart and wife.
Again, I have to say, having a full front baffle on the SongBirds is the way to do those speakers right.  Great work, Jim!

Haaaa, that's great!  I'm gonna try this photo on the missus and see how much trouble I get in for suggesting a quid pro quo if I get her a new Cuisinart processor.

Congrats, Mark.

FYI here is the "inspiration" cuisinart:

My wife required that the speaker be rounded, and matching the color of the kitchen
equipment, and no more than 8" wide, hence this design.

The paint color was actually the easy part -- the hard part was the grill, because
in my wife's view, covering a black driver with a black cover is pointless. She
wanted the same silver color. We went to 3 fabric shops and found nothing. Finally
at a Ross Dress For Less we found a prom dress for $10 with a color and sheen she
approved of, so we bought that, cut out the skirt, and mailed the fabric to Jim.
Here is the pic Jim emailed me:

Of course when I'm alone I'll remove the grille covers, but at least this way the
speakers will be allowed out of the closet.

The speakers are still in transit; I haven't received them yet, but am excited to do so.

I'm sure you meant the corners should be "blended" and not "rounded". :P
