Today's music scene is a lot different than it was back in the early 90s. Today's music scene is ruled by indie music and because of the internet many new bands have an opportunity to be heard. Before, you had to be with a major record label to gain popularity which allowed for your music to be played on the radio, mtv, etc. But as well all know the radio and mtv are dead and the internet is now the way for music to be heard. This allows for a plethora of great bands to be heard instead of just being subject to a few.
