I do not use bananas at the speaker end at all when I do this, just at the amp.

Do you prefer to use barewire at the speaker terminals?

I have always preferred bare wire at the speaker terminals.

I agree that banana plugs are probably the best connectors for the AVA Insight 440H's binding posts.

When I tried to tighten down on spades with the AVA Insight 440H I had,
the plastic nuts started slipping.

It depends on the speaker. For the usual single set, I use the duals. For a couple of the bi-wireable speakers that I have, then I like to run the wire thru the terminals. My Martin Logan reQuests are unique in that they are bi-wired and use dual bananas at both ends.

Some folks are dangerous with tools.
