Interesting article. I have often wondered about individuals suggesting that many speakers cannot accurately reproduce a certain music genres. Should not a great speaker reproduce all music genres equally? I definitely would agree with the assessment of the Bryston electronics contributing to the excellent performance of these speakers - vive la 28B SST². Awesome looking speakers as well as the audio stand.

Be well...

James,
That is an awesome looking setup.  Nice to see all Bryston driving those speakers.  It was interesting to me that they are using the BCD-1 as a transport in conjunction with the BDA-1.  Does that provide improved sound quality?  (Two DAC chips vs. one?) Also, the LEDs on the BDA-1 indicate that up-sampling is off.  Any comment on that?
Tony

Hi Tony,

The BCD-1 with the BDA-1 and the upsampling on and off seems to be running at about 50/50 depending on the setup and opinions expressed so far.

Yah its a beaut, i don't why people don't mix up the Bryston colors on their setups?  That setup would look slick using silver 28's with a black Bryston stack up the middle....

I believe they do, its only the listener's taste that falls into  question.  The listener's expections doesn't gel with the speaker's qualities or portrayal of the soundstage. So they disregard the speaker to protect their  own tastes.

Does this make sense  ?

Hi werd,

You know I had a fellow over on the weekend (sold my Quads) and let him listen to all 3 of my setups.

What I have noticed is that depending on the comments made you can tell right away what areas of performance are more important than others to a specific person.  You can also tell what they are focusing in on that defines what they consider great sound and therefor recognize how far along they are as an audiophile.

Interesting point werd. I think a person’s perception would definitely influence their opinion on a certain speaker or manufacturer. I know in my situation - aesthetics can also be a major influence.  Great point werd  :thumb:

"Whatever it was, the critics were proven wrong as the TAD could definitely rocked and rolled very loud and clear, with out restrain. He brought out The Who, Scorpions, Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple."

Awesome. Now that's what I call a demo! :D

You should replicate this system for CES, James. How about it?

I'll bring The Who, Scorpions, Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple.  :thumb:
