I like to see this kind of DIY project - something you will never see coming from any mainstream manufacturer.

Probably sounds decent, too - especially for a fish, if by no other criterion.

These speakers are most easily tested by this famous duet from 'Les Pecheurs de Perles': http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zdb94HbyRko .
Audiophile lures ?  :)

This project was about having a little fun, and proving to my younger neighbors and friends ( Under 50 unlike myself) that you can have a nice sounding complete system for about $300 bucks. Just hook up your I pod thingy and rock on kids. I was a little surprised myself how good it sounds. And being OB they are lite so I can move them from pond to pond for easy demo.
Thanks for the thumbs up   Greg

I hope I wasn't too funny. Given the elements used these speakers should sound great. But they do remind me of baits I use when fishing.  :)
And of course I couldn't resist to point to one of Jussi Björling's masterpieces in the duet from the 'Pearlfishers' opera.

I was looking at info on the Dayton MCA 2550D 2.1 plate amp. I guess you are running the 15s in parallel and mono. Interesting.

What frequency, roughly, are you crossing over? Are the 125s high passed or run full range?

There is something fishy about those speakers...
Are you a Pisces?
